Who is JAY B.A.D.A.?
Jamal Crowell, a Father, a Son, a Husband, a man of God, that some know as Jay, some know as B.A.D.A., and some put it together.
B.A.D.A. is an acronym for born alone, die alone., representing individuality. “In a world full of followers, I believe it’s important to be your own person.”
Music has always been a passion for Jay. Early on in life, Jay joined his junior high school band, playing the trumpet and the tuba. The junior high band served as a solid foundation and introduction to music theory. However, the musical selections of the band wasn’t what Jay had in mind. “I believe we all learn from somewhere, but it’s up to us to create something new on top of the foundation.”
Jay knew he wanted to create his own style of music and a new sound. Jay began his first studio recordings at the age of 16 with a high school friend. They formed a group and began performing in the Florida area. In 2000, Jay was drawn by the success of artist in the Atlanta area and relocated to what many now refer to as “The Motown of the South.” “I consider myself to be a fan first, a producer second, a writer third, and a recording artist last.”
Jay began recording with several local artist and eventually noticed that the biggest obstacle would be the cost of studio time and paying for production. The search for a solution was ignited. “I decided instead of paying for production, I’d rather save money and create my own. I knew it would be a longer process, but I also knew it would be worth it.”
Jay B.A.D.A., also known under the production name of B.A.D.A. BEATZ, originally began his life journey in the city of New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Over the years, the journey of life has allowed Jay to call several states home. These states include Florida, Ohio, Tennessee, and now Georgia. “The goal is to establish a brand within the world of music, fashion, film, arts, and entertainment.”
With the decision made, B.A.D.A. Unlimited, LLC was formally established in 2015.
